Clara is Geologist, Reservoir engineer and Project manager with 18 plus years’ experience in the Oil and Gas Exploration and Producing business.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Port Harcourt, a Graduate Diploma in Computing from the Federal University of Technology Owerri and a Master of Science degree in Reservoir Engineering from Heriot Watt University, United Kingdom. She is currently a Climate Change and Sustainability Doctoral Student with Euclid University.
Clara is licensed in the United Kingdom as a Chattered Petroleum Engineer (CEng); in Canada she is licensed as a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) and by the global Society of Petroleum Engineers as a Certified Petroleum Engineer (SPEC). This knowledge base has seen her multitask seamlessly and successfully across many roles in oil and gas projects from concept selection to execution.
As a reservoir geologist in Shell Nigeria, she participated in the Gbaran/Ubie Associated Gas gathering project in Shell Nigeria, with an objective to supply feed stock gas to the NLNG Trains 4&5 as part of SPDC’s commitment to supply of gas.
As a Petroleum Engineer with Saudi Aramco, she modelled intelligent horizontal wells with subsurface control mechanisms to balance reservoir pressure and prevent water influx to the wells. She was also involved in the gas value creation effort to with the aim of eliminating operational flaring in line with Kingdom directives.
In her role as a Geoscience manager with Sanjel, alongside developing her team to create subsurface models supporting hydraulic fracturing operations, she implemented all elements of project management from project screening in terms of optimum profitability to Project development and project execution planning and scheduling.
Clara has also co-authored many technical publications to support the technical knowledge base of her profession. She currently lives in Texas in the United States and consults for Aramco Americas, as a major contributor to their upstream business.
